David Pacheco, Esq., has been handling the claims of injured victims in South Florida and worldwide for over 27 years.
Law Firm Partner
Keen Negotiator and Zealous Advocate on Behalf of Injured Victims
For the past 22 years, I have handled Defense Base Act, War Hazards, and Longshore cases. During those 22 years, I have also handled over 1,000 mediations, over 1,500 depositions, and over 100 informal conference hearings on behalf of injured workers.
I am the son of a contractor and have lived in the Middle East for four years. Living in the Middle East allows me to understand better than most lawyers the cultural and political situation contractors stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and other countries in the Middle East deal with.
I have seen almost every issue imaginable under the DBA and/or the LHWCA, and have handled these cases at the level of informal conference hearings before the OWCP, trials at the level of the OALJ and appeals to the BRB and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
As a result of handling so many cases and seeing so many issues at each level of hearing, I have developed an effective and keen ability to negotiate and zealously advocate for my clients.
David Pacheco is an excellent DBA lawyer. He gave me great information, responded quickly. He advised me on the details of my DBA case. He fought hard for me against the insurance company and helped me negotiate an excellent settlement. Bill from Las Vegas is who I am, and I am recommending Mr. Pacheco and this firm of Gillis, Mermell & Pacheco to my colleagues who are working overseas.
David Pacheco and his staff, especially Maggie and Gladis, handled my case very seriously. He found all my doctors for me. I felt that he took care of me and everything for me. I was in contact with his office at least once a week when I had issues concerning medications or medical appointments or other things. The settlement was way higher than I expected. I would give Mr. Pacheco a 20 out of a scale of 1 – 10. I recommend all interpreters or workers who are injured while working in Iraq or Afghanistan or anywhere overseas to go see Mr. Pacheco. He has the experience to take your case from the bottom all the way to the top. He will exceed your expectations. He will keep you calm while you are waiting to get there.
Award-Winning Injury Attorney
Recognized as "10 Best Attorneys" for Work-Related Injuries
I received the 2018 Avvo Client Choice Award for Client Satisfaction and the 2018 American Institute of Legal Counsel recognition as one of the “10 Best Attorneys” in the State of Florida for work-related injury cases.
I have attended CLE conferences each year and have been invited to speak as an expert on DBA and Longshore cases.
I have researched most areas of the Act and am familiar with the nuances associated with this very specialized area of the law.
If you are injured in any port city in the USA, such as New York, Houston, New Orleans, Long Beach, Savannah, Port of Miami, or near a navigable river, I can help you in your Longshore case.
If you are injured overseas working for the Department of Defense in any country, including Iraq, Afghanistan, or Syria, I can help you with your Defense Base Act/War Hazards case.
I do not only handle cases for Americans, as the DBA/War Hazards law extends to citizens of other countries. I represent residents of Great Britain, Australia, Peru, Europe, Africa, and India, among others.
I can also represent you if you work as a civilian at an Army, Navy, Marine, or Air Force Base in the United States or overseas.
Finally, I also handle cases where you are injured performing offshore oil drilling.
